Cours au Havre

Este ano, como nos anteriores, vou quatro sextas-feiras de seguida ao Havre, para assegurar as aulas do Mestrado local de Dinâmica Estuarina. Este ano hà um movimento de greve e a Faculdade de Ciências està fechada. As aulas são asseguradas, mas em outros edificios, mais perto do grande porto do Havre, uma zona em grande reconstrução. Um dos locais é o edificio de tijolos por detràs das gruas. MAis hà esquerda fica o ISEL onde tambem dou aulas algumas das vezes. A vatangem da bela ponte de Normandia, que atravessa o estuario do Sena, é que do outro lado fia Honfleur... onde passo as minhas noites e tomo os meus pequenos-almoços. Mas isso é outro post.
A cidade do Havre foi destrida na durante a guerra (como Brest) e é tambem a maior zona portuaria e petrquimica de França. Apesar de classificada no patrimonio Universal da Unesco, é uma cidade reputada com feia, desordonada, poluida. Mas hà quem goste muito desta cidade que tem mesmo algo de unico. espreitem as belissimas imagens de alguem que gosta de fotografar o Havre.
I'm now going weekly to Le Havre where I' m teaching for one of the local University masters degrees. This year there's a students strike and the main building is closed. So, I'm doing my teaching in other buildings, near the port neighbourwoods, where there is an impressive rebuilding effort. Some times I work on the redbrick building here-up, some others in the redbrick building just on the left from the boats : the picture here-after!!!
Le Havre was recently classified on the Unesco World Patrimony. But is usually considered as an ugly town (rapidly reconstructed after WWII, main french port facilities with all the "smelling" industries related to that. But some people really appreciate this city which is quite unique in a way. And there is someone that takes really nice pictures of that city.
The bridge that crosses the Seine estuary gives the shorter connection to Honfleur, where I usualy stay for the night. But there's another post.
